Description. Communal storytelling around the theme of emotionally wounded mothers. This is a developing series that engages community members, performers and non-performers, through storytelling and creative sessions. Through the exploration of body work, chanting, improv and creative writing we discover the connections uniting all of our stories and avenues for healing.
HER JOURNEY TO HEALING is the curated visual, designed to show the generational connection of hurt and the need to heal the inner child in order to properly nourish our own children.

The Process

Over the course of seven meetings, a group of sons, daughter and mothers, ranging in age and experiences, shared the stories of our wounded mothers. We engaged in writing prompts, improvisational exercises, movement and chant building a tapestry of our experiences. We discovered common themes, shared remorse and shared hope. The 'rehearsal' process, was truly a healing process.
