We are all made up of the same matter. We all have DNA; we are all made of atoms, frequencies, and energy.
That energy is described and outlined in the Chakra system. Chakras are energy wheels within us, each spinning at a unique frequency, traveling from the base of our spine to above the crown of our head.
Seven chakra wheels serve as the foundation of the Chakra system.

Why Care About Energy Wheels?
They are the control panels of our emotional and spiritual well-being.
Exploring the chakras helps us understand how energy flows or where it is blocked within us, relating to our emotional, physical, and spiritual wellness.
Unlocking these energy wheels enhances our emotional and spiritual resilience and capacity.
In the same way our DNA carries aspects of our ancestors and family traits, our energy wheels do the same.
Our root chakra contains our soul's past and ancestral impressions with our present life experiences regarding safety and identity.
The practice of healing blocks within the chakra system can be applied to clear ancestral blocks. The work of our ancestral roots within our energetic fields begins in the root chakra.

When imbalanced, it creates anxiety, insecurity, a feeling of being disconnected, excessive negativity, and greed.
A Process of Healing
Here are ten practical steps you can take to begin to heal your root chakra and connect with your ancestry. Be sure to do this work in your sacred space, uninterrupted and focused on healing.

Journaling for Healing:
Begin by meditating and journaling on the five prompts below.
Reflect and journal your earliest childhood memories of feeling safe and free to be yourself.
Reflect on early childhood memories where there was a lack of safety. How did you feel your caretakers responded to that lack?
Reflect on your parents and grandparents' lives. Do you know moments they felt unsafe in childhood and their caretaker's response to that lack of safety?
What are the traditional ways your family provides safety and protection?
Create a list of "I Am" affirmations encouraging feelings of safety and confidence in knowing your strengths. These affirmations should be specific to the healing points that you found patterns in your reflections.

Engaging the Senses to Activate Healing:
Use the affirmation list for the following practices.
Sound: Speak the affirmations out loud to yourself at your ancestral altar. Play meditative music at the root chakra frequency for a calming experience.
Sight: Meditate in the soft glow of red lights or candles to evoke a sense of safety. Visualize what safety looks like for you and your ancestors; visualize your ancestors as a great force of people protecting you.
Touch: Wear the color red and/or practice yoga with asanas that encourage the flow of energy at the root. These asanas include the seated position, the garland pose, the warrior pose, and the child's pose.
Taste: Consume red foods and provide red food for your ancestral altar. Speak affirmations in prayer over your food and water.
Smell: Utilize essential oils or incense like ylang-ylang, cedarwood, or frankincense with breathwork to feel grounded in the present moment.
Embarking on the ancestral clearing within the root chakra is like unlocking the hidden treasures within your family tree. Strengthening your spiritual and emotional capacity is a voyage of self-discovery that blends wisdom and practicality.
